People who have been laid off or that have been part of mass-layoffs (laying off of more than 50 employees) are entitled to unemployment benefits such as financial assistance and re-education resources from the federal government. These benefits include assistance and access to many of the government’s employment resources and staff who can offer advise on new careers and possible choices maximizing employment chances. They also include classes that educates people on using the internet and the many other computer courses for the uninitiated opening the doors of the web to those who seek alternate employment.
They also offer accreditation to the vast federal jobs that are made available in efforts to further minimize the impact of the slowing economy. The government has intensified assistance programs due to the rash of mass-layoffs that have resulted in many unemployment individuals that can benefit society in many other ways. They provide the training and get people back on their feet ensuring they don’t stay unemployed for too long, lessening the impact on the economy.
